If you were born in the 80s (or before) and lived near or in PJ then I'm pretty sure you would know where the Medan Selera in PJ Old Town is. This place is an institution that has withstood the test of time. I'm amazed that this place still exists and that it looks essentially the same as it did 20 years ago.Personally I don't have any memories of the specific stalls that I …
It was a lazy Saturday afternoon... we were late for lunch and were left without much choices. At 3pm, most places are closed only to reopen in the evening. We were in the Hartamas area searching for some bento. No luck, all closed so I drove around a little bit and found this place.Babu Taiwan Cuisine. If not for the word Taiwan in it's name one would probably think it's …
KFC does it again. They are the kings of fast food component re-use and "innovation". Unfortunately I'm a sucker for their new stuff. When they do something new I can't help but want to try it out :)Introducing...the not very creatively named Cheezy ChickaroniMacaroni with cheese and 4 chicken ballsThe cheese tastes exactly like the one they use for the Cheesy Wedges which …
There aren't that many attractions in Tanjung Sepat. After all it's but a small village. However one of the things that's most talked about is the pau place. I personally did not try any of the paus here but I heard from a local that they have become so commercialised that they compromised on their quality so they aren't nearly as good as they used to be.The paus aren't …
If you're looking for seafood in Tanjung Sepat I think it's safe to say there's no other place you need to go. Ocen Seafood restaurant is the place to be. It's located on the beach front and it's seated right next to the Tanjung Sepat icon, the Lover's Bridge.A sweet chilli sauce that the locals love... made in Puchong!Tau-fu kang. Not the best around, really.Fried …
I don't know why but I keep finding myself back here. In any case it was a good trip. Here are some pictures of the very famous Tanjung Sepat landmark, the Lover's Bridge. In case you're wondering, yes... a local confirms that they really do go to the bridge to date (or at least they used to).Lover's Bridge view from the restaurantThis guy is waiting for his fishing boat …
I was at Daicon last Saturday. It was a rather small event and frankly speaking I don't think there was too much to do but kudos to the organisers anyway. I spent a good hour or two at Daicon. Keep it up. Looking forward to a better event next year. Here are some random pics. You can view the set here.
I'm not sure if many people know this but Hung Kee serves a lot more than just wantan noodles. In fact they are a proper restaurant and you can order both noodles and an assortment of dishes accompanied by rice. There are 2 dishes in particular that I think are standout in Hung Kee. One is their fish head dish and the other is this; the humble Sweet and Sour PorkCan't have …
