There aren't that many attractions in Tanjung Sepat. After all it's but a small village. However one of the things that's most talked about is the pau place. I personally did not try any of the paus here but I heard from a local that they have become so commercialised that they compromised on their quality so they aren't nearly as good as they used to be.The paus aren't …

If you're looking for seafood in Tanjung Sepat I think it's safe to say there's no other place you need to go. Ocen Seafood restaurant is the place to be. It's located on the beach front and it's seated right next to the Tanjung Sepat icon, the Lover's Bridge.A sweet chilli sauce that the locals love... made in Puchong!Tau-fu kang. Not the best around, really.Fried …

I don't know why but I keep finding myself back here. In any case it was a good trip. Here are some pictures of the very famous Tanjung Sepat landmark, the Lover's Bridge. In case you're wondering, yes... a local confirms that they really do go to the bridge to date (or at least they used to).Lover's Bridge view from the restaurantThis guy is waiting for his fishing boat …

This pan mee place is not mentioned anywhere on the Internet. I did all the Googling I could with all the keywords I could think of and did not come up with a single mention of this place. Too bad because this stall deserves better. These days, people in the pan mee business are just trying to out-gimmick the competition, case in point these two (and another Puchong travesty …

KFC does it again. They are the kings of fast food component re-use and "innovation". Unfortunately I'm a sucker for their new stuff. When they do something new I can't help but want to try it out :)Introducing...the not very creatively named Cheezy ChickaroniMacaroni with cheese and 4 chicken ballsThe cheese tastes exactly like the one they use for the Cheesy Wedges which …

The best char siew place I know is in this kinda run down place in Ampang called Soo Kee. Unfortunately, since I've never bothered to try the other famous char siew places I can't provide any comparisons. The beat up signage Soo Kee is located on Jalan Ampang, quite nearby Ampang Point (refer to the map below). If you're coming from KLCC towards Ampang Point, there's a …

If you were born in the 80s (or before) and lived near or in PJ then I'm pretty sure you would know where the Medan Selera in PJ Old Town is. This place is an institution that has withstood the test of time. I'm amazed that this place still exists and that it looks essentially the same as it did 20 years ago.Personally I don't have any memories of the specific stalls that I …

So you may be wondering what Tuen Yuen Fan is about? Chinese tradition dictates that members of a family must gather together and have dinner on the very last day of the Chinese calendar. Since the Chinese New Year is upon us it’s time again for the annual “Sau Gong Jau” which literally translates to dinner at the closing of work. For folks who don’t know the Chinese working people have a (recent?) tradition that involves having a feast right before everybody leaves for their Chinese New Year More >No related posts.Related posts …

I'm not sure if many people know this but Hung Kee serves a lot more than just wantan noodles. In fact they are a proper restaurant and you can order both noodles and an assortment of dishes accompanied by rice. There are 2 dishes in particular that I think are standout in Hung Kee. One is their fish head dish and the other is this; the humble Sweet and Sour PorkCan't have …

Who loves fish balls? I do! I've had people tell me that fish balls are cheap stuff and not worth the money but to me it's not so much the price that matters rather it's whether we like it or not. It's as simple as that.Fans of fish ball noodles might remember this place in Jalan Yap Ah Shak that's been closed a few years (refer here). Many people are really nostalgic …

I have to apologise as work kept me really really busy hence the delayed publishing of this blog post. Still I hope you guys will find this information useful. So anyways, Ah Loong …

It was a lazy Saturday afternoon... we were late for lunch and were left without much choices. At 3pm, most places are closed only to reopen in the evening. We were in the Hartamas area searching for some bento. No luck, all closed so I drove around a little bit and found this place.Babu Taiwan Cuisine. If not for the word Taiwan in it's name one would probably think it's …

I was at Daicon last Saturday. It was a rather small event and frankly speaking I don't think there was too much to do but kudos to the organisers anyway. I spent a good hour or two at Daicon. Keep it up. Looking forward to a better event next year. Here are some random pics. You can view the set here.
