As my last post suggests the earnings are actually going down very rapidly. Therefore had been busy coming up with other apps, when I've decided to take a breather and check out reviews for my current application here is what I saw and it really gives me the motivation to try and come out with other 'innovative' (shameless me) way of doing mobile software.I am really really …

I've decided to get myself on long term contract, which I found one nice one. Lots of opportunities to learn stuffs. Mainly handling procurements, budgeting and dealing with customers. Which I think would help me in my ventures later on. Areas which I'm definitely very weak in.Secondly have been downgraded to C2L2 (Yes no more dreaded IPPT), on hindsight no more yearly $200 …

Since the previous post was on how the iphone's finger scrolling indirectly solves my lefty problem, here is another short one on some of the simple solutions that I like.If you frequent joelonsoftware's forums it has a very brilliant way of discouraging spammers. Instead of having moderators to ban spammers or deleting spam postings from the forum, here's how they do it. The …

In my app I needed to resize the UILabel size dynamically in runtime as the text would not be determined during compilation time. Luckily this can be done by using the sizeWithFont method of NSString class.Call sizeWithFont of the text.Get back a CGSize struct and you can now init your UILabel with the struct.UIFont *font = [UIFont systemFontOfSize:14];CGSize textSize = [ …

Time flies when you are doing something you enjoy but it's really torturous when you are not. Here I am on a sunday night thinking about the week ahead and frankly it really makes me sick to think about all the 'administrative' work. Hope I can find enough motivation tomorrow morning to drag myself out of the bed to go to work. All I can say is that I'm already counting down …

screen shot of the simulation It has been a while since my last post, guess I was too caught up in my work that is frankly speaking 'killing' me. Feels bad when everyday you would go to work and engage in activities that kills off the 'part' of you that is what you believe in and stand for.Had gone through my archives today (sign of old age), came across an old project that I …

Haven't been able to blog lately, due to the fact that it's about time that i did my fair share of protecting the nation again(darn where's my no.4 uniform now). Looking forward to meeting up with the guys again, and most importantly network amongst ourselves. I do know a few who've made it and started their business from scratch. Well finally fixed an annoying 'bug' arising from IE6's caching feature. For my app I was not able to refresh the page content with my HttpRequest object in IE6. Everything worked in Firefox, luckily after borrowing an AJAX book from my friend I manage to solve the problem.Solution: Append a dummy time stamp to send to the server. When IE6 interpret the request it will …

when using visual studio developer 2008 to create linq to sql dbml remember to synchronize the properties with the columns of your tables. I've added another column to one of my tables and manually added a corresponding property to the dbml class. However I've forgotten to set the nullable to 'true' as the column allows null.
