Ivy
The name is Ivy. Born in 1985. I'm a Singaporean who recently came back to Singapore, after being away for almost 20 years. During the day I'm an in-house public relations exec, and during the night I pollute the Internet with my singing and opinions.
I'm a friendly, outgoing person, and an avid anime fan that love to design the web, play the guitar and learn a bunch of foreign languages.
I have been keeping a personal blog for almost 10 years. I write mostly about culture, anime, wordpress themes and plugins. I design my own blog, and occasionally for other bloggers. My blog has been traditionally read by people in the US, but I'd love to be able to connect with other Asian bloggers (that's why I'm here!).
If you'd like to contact me, drop me a line at http://nanyate.com/contact! Don't worry, I won't bite!

So, I got another cellphone for work purposes. And this was one of the phone I was considering to buy, if not for the lack of quadband capabilities: LG Viewty KU990R. In Singapore, it comes in two shades: pretty pink and sleek black. I had a hard time choosing between to two, but ultimately chose ...
And the Apple dealers (since there is no Apple store in Singapore) are making me pay 180$ for it because I don’t live in the US, where Apple users that face the same problem are given a free replacement. This is how my magsafe currently looks like:Sorry Apple Asia and associates, but I’m not going ...
In an effort to get to know Singapore’s blogosphere, I went to a ping.sg (singaporean blogger community) dinner at a ritzy izakaya-style Japanese restaurant called En (えん). Met some …
Ever since I downloaded TwitterFox, I’ve become hopelessly addicted to Twitter…to the detriment of my blog. It’s become so easy to post my opinions and internet finds with 140 characters that writing 400 worded posts has come to be too cumbersome to write. It’s become so easy to hear what others have to say in ...
I finally got myself a gym membership after living in Singapore for 7 months. The experience of a getting a gym membership was…eventful. I wasn’t quite expecting the answer to my innocent question, “how much does a gym membership cost?” to be a 1-hour battle strategy armed with marketing tactics. Unfortunately for the gym, these ...

Singapore’s UOB finally launched its mobile banking app today. I use UOB as my primary credit card, so I’ve been waiting for their mBanking app for a long time. I was able beta test the app a couple days before the launch date, and I have to say it was well worth the wait! UOB... Read More →Related posts:Christmas Cards for You! Blogger Business Cards A …
I attended my first GovCamp last Friday. I couldn’t make it to the keynotes (which I heard where great!) but managed to sit through a few of the breakout sessions. For those of you who’ve not heard about GovCamp, it’s place for people to talk about eGovernment initiatives or how governments can use tech to... Read More →Related posts:Social Media is …
After reading on the recent debates on Occupy Wall Street in the US and watching the parliamentary speeches in Singapore, I’ve gained a new perspective on political divisiveness. I was always under the impression that political division was just a bunch of old farts vs a legion of hippies. Actually, it’s not too far off,... Read More →Related posts:Thoughts …
I just came back from an panel discussion organized by the Creators of Tomorrow. Their aim is to inspire more kids to become engineers. I can’t comment on the profession, since I’m no engineer. But what struck me at the event was the evident disconnect between the speakers and the audience of high school kids.... Read More →Related posts:Resolutions for a …
