I have never liked running over too long a distance. It makes me lose muscle mass and is incredibly boring. The only time you would probably catch me covering more mileage than a 2.4km IPPT run is when I am playing football. It is more exciting because I don't just blindly embark on a routine run all over the pitch.
A month ago, I was very enthusiastic about preparing for my very first marathon. However after barely a month of training for it and some consideration, I have decided to pull out of it.
I was on a bus '21' ride home, and as usual it was commuter-packed. The most comfortable way of boarding it would be to wait for everyone else to do so, and that was what I did. I have to count my blessed stars, home is just 4 bus stops away from my work place.
While working on my contact page, I was on the lookout for a regex to handle email validation. The Regular Expression Library has a huge collection. However I got frustrated looking for one which fitted my needs. Most regex would let an email such as user@ms..com pass.
Photography has always been my interest. It may be a costly hobby, but it is one which I have every intention of pursuing. A Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera has always been on my want-list and that could very well become a reality in the upcoming SITEX exhibition.
June must be the month of misfortunes, at least for me. One after another, it has befallen me. First it was a strained tendon, then multiple wounds on my elbows, knee, heel and toe during last week's street soccer session and now this, a stye. What is next on the list? Surprise me! Thankfully June is ending in another 3 days.
As I was about to leave for home on Tuesday, a couple of my NS friends invited me to a football session. Assuming it was for the afternoon the next day, I rejected them swiftly, citing my duty schedule as an excuse. It was there and then that I got to know of their crazy plan.
The world is stricken by poverty. Some think that it is non-existent in Singapore. They are wrong, Poverty does exist, just that it is not a wide spread issue at least amongst the majority of Singaporeans.
Did I ever mention that I was a Sony fanatic? In my collection is a DSC T100, W890i and Vaio VGN FS25GP. What is missing is a Sony Bravia LCD TV, but that is for sometime in the future. My 3 year old notebook has never given me many problems. This 15" delight may have been wide and weighs at a sweet 2.7kg, but it has served me well since my 2nd year in Singapore Polytechnic …
I am done with the consultation at Tan Tock Seng’s dental clinic this past week. I got to know that the polyclinic did not attach the x-ray report with the referral letter, how convenient. As a result, I had to do another x-ray scan. Following a talk with the dentist, I have decided to go ...

Visiting this year to my cousin’s place down at Telok Kurau was slightly later than usual as my mother only returned home from her company lunch relatively late. When I actually got there, it wasn’t as awkward as I would have expected. There wasn’t really any drastic pauses of silence, not only did I managed ...

To err is human. No one can claim that they have never made a mistake in their entire life. Learning through mistakes are part and parcel of growing up, and it makes you a better person. This week's challenge is to blog about the worst mistake I made in a relationship.
I am on MC today. After Saturday's street soccer session ended, I could barely stand. At first I brushed it off as fatigue wearing down on me and told myself that all I needed was a good rest, but when I woke up today feeling the exact same pain, I knew it wasn't fatigue. Upon confirmation from the doctor, I had suffered a strained tendon on my right leg.
Have you ever created a fixed width center aligned website with CSS only to encounter the FireFox jumping bug? This bug only occurs if you are navigating from a page whose content fits in nicely into the browser's window to one which does not. In layman terms, moving from 1 page with no vertical scrollbar to another with one.
I never liked taking tests/exams which require a tremendous effort of memory work. Since my secondary school days to date, I have never fared well in any of them. I have deliberately left out my primary school days. Back then, homework was the only reason why I opened up my textbooks at home.
I know I am supposed to be excited as it is Chinese New Year. A period of time where I get away from work and catch up with relatives whom I have not seen in a year as well as collect extra greens from our Ang Baos. However I am not really keen on this ...
I will be getting the ‘Best In Fitness’ award during my POP come this 18th of January. To be honest about it, I am not exactly proud or happy about this revelation. I was the only one who was eligible to take my IPPT because my application to get upgraded to PES B was the ...
I am extremely late on this but this is worth a mention. The new Miss World has been crowned and Zhang Zi Lin is China’s first ever winner in the competition. Born in Shijiazhuang in the province of Hebei, she is standing at a whooping 1.82m but definitely on the thinner side compared to the other ...
