This is one super old school kind of cake shop in Singapore. A few friends and I were around the area one weekend for tea at Maison Ikkoku. Then suddenly at around 4:45pm, the wife and sis said, we need to go buy the cakes now! Oh, it seems the cake shop closes at 5 pm, and they wanted the cake to be kept cold and so waited until the last minute before the shop closes to buy …

This was seen at East Coast Park. At first glance, I interpreted the top drawing as please post your dog poo because I thought that was a post box! Then I realised it was the drawing of a bin. I wonder how they choose these 12 breeds of dogs to be 'featured' in the sign. Most common breed of large dogs seen walking in that area? I find it educational because I don't …

I was in Orchard Road and realised there was so so so many people in blue t-shirts around. Out of curiosity, went to take a look. The Earth Hour folks are having a mass gathering. It was really a lot of people around! I don't believe doing these things prove anything. It's just to make a statement. If these people here really practice what they preach, good, but we …

Something interesting spotted at the NUS Campus today. A coke machine that looks very different from the usual Coke Vending Machine. (For those who wants to know where this was located, it's near LT14 / LT15, the walkway in front of the Lecture Theatre, near to Forum) It just has a Hug Me word on it and a 'hole' to collect the can drinks. How do you get the drinks out, …

More shopping malls are popping up! "Green Malls" seems to be in the in-thing too! This was the previous Jurong Entertainment Centre. It's now called JCube, because it's design to look like an ice cube! I think it's gonna be very different from the previous mall. I used to only walk through it because it was a shortcut to get the Jurong Regional Library. Remember the …

The Changi Airport (IATA: SIN, ICAO: WSSS) Air Traffic Control Tower viewed between the Crowne Plaza Airport Hotel and Terminal 3 building. It's such an icon isn't it? That when you draw that control tower on "Draw Something", people immediately know you are drawing the word "Airport"! Don't you also love the details on the next building?

It's the same question most of us will be asking our partners/dining mates. What shall we have for lunch/dinner? KopiKosongGirl has been saying she calls the "Ngee Ann Poly kind of western food" and price. Don't want the modern western / modern european / european fusion thing. In my head, I interpret it as the hawker centre' kind of western food. One Sunday after church, …

Took a shot of the International Cruise Terminal at Marina South recently. Not a very clear photo, it was too hazy.... Reports says it will be completed by 2013, which is next year. It has really deep waters, no height restrictions and a large turning basin compared to the Cruise Centre at Harbourfront. Can't wait for it to be ready and huge cruise liners can berth here!

I was recently invited to a Cooking Workshop by one of the PR firm representing Doubletree by Hilton. The cooking class / workshop was conducted by two chefs who came all the way from "Makan Kitchen", Doubletree by Hilton's signature restaurant with 350 seats located at Level 11. Talking about Hilton, my colleagues and I know exactly how many Hiltons are there in Malaysia. I …

Do you recognise him? Yes, it's Ian Wright! The Singapore heat might be a tad too much for dear host of "Invite Mr Wright". However, that's not bothering this globetrotting host. He was in Singapore to promote his show, "Invite Mr Wright 2". If you watch the first series, he went to a few countries, including our neighbouring countries and stayed with families and immersed …

The security guard at this building must had been fed-up of people asking the same question probably a million times a day. Where is your preferred place to 'relieve' yourself? I know many ladies will go to a hotel's washroom if it's nearby. I had a chat recently with someone who works for a hotel. She and her colleagues observed that there's a person that "visit their …

This was an HungryGoWhere.com invite to taste the food at The Sleeping Rhino at Klapsons the Boutique Hotel. What an unique name! The Sleeping Rhino? We were hosted by Belda from Klapsons and she said the name and the initial TSR sounds cool. The hotel itself is really cool too! When you enter the building you will see a big sphere as the reception area. Try walking into it …

We got this voucher for Cold Stone Cremery from Far East Organisation / Quincy Hotel since last year and we were thinking of an occasion to use it for someone's birthday. When we finally wanted to use it for someone's birthday. It was meant to be a surprise cake for that person in our Care Group meet up, guess what, the Care Group was cancelled last minute! The cake had to …

Some people leave office on the dot so they can pick up their kids. Many of my colleagues do that! Some leave work on the dot so that they can go exercise. I know more people doing this! Some others have to work late because everyone in their company stay back just to show they are hardworking! It's true, I have friends that work in such company! Some others leave work to …

I was flying back to Singapore the other day and because the air show was on, I think there was some delay at the airport. Our flight was circling around Singapore for around 20 minutes. I saw this same thing a few times because of the circling and I took a snap of it. Beautiful isn't it? The pilot finally said we got a landing slot and everyone cheered!

Probably the McDonald's that most people in Singapore have visited at least once in their lifetime! It's a place to grab a drink and some air-con after a run, cycling or skating. A place to seek refuge when you are at East Coast Park and it rains! It's also the first Drive-Thru, the first Skate-Thru, the first 24 hours outlet in Singapore too! Today's the last day where …
