A long lost buddy during my Amazon days Rikin recently resurfaced (long live social networks!) and, what a surprise, he’s really in India helping villagers as he said he would 5 years ago! (after building spaceships that is) What’s even more amazing is that he’s still sort of working in Microsoft while getting this going ...

Here’s what happened in the mean time:I had serious election fever - although that had subsided, a recent unfortunate break-in to my home ...

Completed!! Woohoo!! After talking to numerous people and researching and toiling over many weekends and weeknights, I think I’m done (maybe except encore…)Read more about the concert on Philharmonic Winds’ website, or go buy tickets from SISTIC.There will be more pieces than those advertised - some really really recent music for the young ...

I’m blogging - but I seriously need a break. Writing music can sometimes be way too emotional.. especially when you’re working with a tool that gives you feedback (like midi playback). Even though rehearsals have not started, I’m already feeling the heat all over - scoring for the concert has definitely passed the 50% mark, ...

Ethnic Group and Modern Band - sounds familiar? If you have heard such a group doing some traditional melody on some nationalistic pretense, you probably have already brushed it off (I know, I tried putting chinese orchestra with marching band before, it was atrocious). However, consider taking a look at this:Inner Voices a.k.a. Mamak BandLet’s ...

Silly picture I took in Big Camera, this huge electronics store in Ginza (Tokyo) area close to where we stayed. While waiting for Tuan Kah, I had a fun time trying out massage chairs (more “human” than Osim etc. in terms of the programming of the rollers), seeing USD$2500 fridges and USD$800 rice cookers (can ...
