A training bike from Ferrari … sounds wimpy, doesn’t it? Even a nicely built soapbox car would have been cooler. Anyway, this is the closest Ferrari will ever come to having a green vehicle.

It seems I am not the only one who Googles my symptoms before heading to the doctor. Google Flu Trends tracks search terms to predict when the flu will hit certain areas within the United States — an epidemic indicator, if you’d like. While it’s a good idea and could be extended to pseudo-prediction of ...

You’ve got spin the eggs to find out. A hard-boiled egg will spin freely (almost like a top) since the inside is also solid. A raw egg, on the other hand, will not spin that well since the inside is all runny and gooey.

With almost all of Beck’s albums, I have always needed many listens before coming to a decision on whether I like it or not. His 2008 album, Modern Guilt, however took me just one listen to immediately like it. It sounds darkly catchy and much more consistent than the 2006 LP The Information. The Modern ...

Super retro presentation slides from 1975 — actually, they look better than some Powerpoint slides I have seen.

Flash is bad. Every Flash player software that was ever released, up to the current version 9.0.124.0, is affected.Uhmmm… time to uninstall it for now?

So a couple days (or was it weeks) ago, I saw this comic from the ever excellent xkcd and thought it was pretty funny. Today, I find out that YouTube really implemented it!The audio playback is pretty good (though it unsurprisingly muddles through lorem ipsum text). One can only hope users guilty of idiot comments ...

The Quad is a fantastic, modular shelving system which can store many different-sized objects and looks wicked too. The great part is you can actually stack them to create a bigger unit. The not-so-great part (for boys and girls on a budget like me) is that it costs US$2,000 a pop.

Actually, it’s more a nicely edited ad using an Obama speech and good music rather than a speech itself. But it’s powerful stuff nonetheless. In any case, I just hope our dear American friends won’t let another screw up happen again this time.

Kowalski was the first single from Primal Scream’s very compelling 1997 release, Vanishing Point. Breaking away from whatever they had done before, this single was a disturbing blend of industrial dub, samples from the (pointless) 1971 movie Vanishing Point and Bobby Gillespie muttering weird nothings. And it sounded great. The Automator mix was wicked and I ...
