I was formerly with the local political non-governmental organisation (NGO) Think Centre, where I was Deputy Executive Secretary, editor of the Centre's website, public affairs head, managed and organised activities and ran the day-to-day affairs of the Centre. On many occasions, I've also helped Singapore's political opposition parties, namely Workers Party & Singapore Democrats, during and after my Think Centre days. I was also involved in the Singapore Anti-Death Penalty Campaign for a period of time. During the course of my activism (all of which was voluntary work) I have worked with and/or known, assisted a remarkable number of individuals: James Gomez, J B Jeyaretnam, Chee Soon Juan, Chee Siok Chin, just to name a few of the prominent names. I've been M.I.A for a very long time but I still maintain contact and occasionally do attend and/or help out. Political activism, especially in a repressive political climate in Singapore, takes ALOT out of you mentally, physically, emotionally and financially.

I was invited for this event, which was billed as a private event, but i couldn't make it. But i was getting updates during the screening as to what was happening. :-)Its a good thing there's technology and the internet. If not, we would have had to depend on our local press, which is so famously biased. Watching these actions by Singapore's government officials, trying to …
