Just an update.I posted about seeing Tux, the Linux mascot, being used by a store at the Expo last year (In my May 2007 archives). There’s an article on BoingBoing yesterday about a similar thing. Apparently Tux is so adorable people are using him everywhere.

For those of you who like printing your photos from one of those print stations (see picture), a word of caution. If you insert a memory card/stick, do scan it for viruses when you bring it home.If possible, just use IR or bluetooth or a CD to transfer your photos. To be safer, you ...
This is part 2 of my review of the iPaq rx4240. Unfortunately HP has recently stopped making this device. It’s bigger brother the 4500 is still on the market though, and I still see this unit being sold in most places at the same price.Anyway, in part 2 I will be reviewing the software and ...
Christmas is upon us again. This is one holiday where all retailers rejoice. Singaporeans all get to indulge in their favourite pastime, whether they celebrate Christmas or not. Not that I'm complaining. What I enjoy about the holiday is that shopping malls will try to outdo each other and try to be the best decorated. I haven't seen anything really nice this year. I did see a …
The HP iPaq rx4240 is a thing of beauty. It’s really pleasing on the eyes. I got my unit recently and have been using it for about a month now. I’m going to try to give it a proper review, …
So we went to the Singapore Fireworks Celebrations on Friday night at the floating stadium. The crowds were unbelievable. It was such a hassle getting in that we were soon thinking 'This had better be worth it.'There were kids games and food stalls outside but we were quite late so we didn't stop to see. Anyway I don't think we would enjoy the inflated prices anyway. There …
Here are more pictures I took while back in Kuching. The contrast between Kuching and Singapore is pretty great. I know it took me a long time to get my vacation pictures in order and that makes the posts here seem disjointed. :(This is a picture of what you will typically see in Kuching. Lots of shophouses. Lately the streets are overflowing with cars and crime is rampant. …
One of my hard disks failed recently. I did what I could to recover my data before taking the HDD unit out of the PC. But instead of disposing of it, I wanted to open it up. Just to see the innards and maybe to retrieve the neodymium magnets inside. So I took out my ...

I snapped another error message in a public display while I was at Vivocity. This one was at Citibank, something about a missing user key.
For half a year now, my wife and I have been going to a Tibet Restaurant in East Coast Road for dinner at least once a week. When the restaurant was first open, there were a number of girl …
