i just pass you by...
Looking through the glass.
Staring at the passersby.
A look so uncertain caught my eye.
A flamed girl,
Being burned deep within. Alive.
The eyes shocked me,
And she seemed to be screaming,
But only tears fell on the outside.
Her hand pressed the glass,
And I felt as though there was no safe place to hide.
Silence spoke,
Time froze,
Even as the seconds flew by…
So I placed my hand where hers would’ve been,
If only she had come inside.
And I felt an immeasurable understanding of loss then,
From a beautiful passerby.

I'm posting for my human, as she thinks this online dating thing is silly and won't do it herself. But I think it could work. Especially if the humans finally realize that we dogs are much better judges of character than they are and let us …
The oldest, smallest house you can imagine was about to be knocked down. All the things that once made the house nice and cosy had been thrown outside and piled up in the front garden, from the soft springy bed the owners slept in, to the old wooden floorboards they used to walk on …and even, surely by some mistake, a little brown teddy bear. He was trapped amongst …

In talking to family members, we strive to find the right footing on a continuum between closeness and distance. We want to be close enough to feel protected and safe but not so close that we feel overwhelmed and suffocated. I call this the connection continuum. At …
