Was reading up on the Angkor Wat (faffing), one of the places I want to visit one day.Sometimes it's really hard to imagine, that Singapore is part of Southeast Asia. We're such an anomaly, with our air-conditioned buildings (we're an air-conditioned nation man! Burning hot on the outside, freezing cold on the inside. That should be our USP...), non-history and people that belong nowhere (our lack of identity and roots to a place). Compared to our poorer neighbours, culturally, we are the much poorer ones (poorest?), even though economically we are eons ahead. And everyone from the rest of Southeast Asia yearns to come here to make it big. And we're the model for all of them. Sitting in my humble peaceful room in my humble peaceful HDB flat, thinking about the much less than clean streets and the much much less than neat efficient traffic systems of the neighbouring countries (at least they don't have the stupid ERP), I do feel a bit weird, anamolous.We're much closer to our Western counterparts, Americans,
