i can't badmouth in japanese now... darn

I have come to realise that there is an extremely high percentage of nus students who learn the japanese language. Even 60% of my lab mates at my bench group take japanese. No wonder they were giving me this weird look during the first few lab sessions. You see, i rarely talk to them at all since i like to keep a low profile in school. They must have been trying to figure out whether the name "yuka" belongs to me or min sun initially.Anyway, whether it's at the study benches, the tables at the canteen, the lecture halls, i always see all these nihongo books sprawled around and their owners trying to converse with fellow LAJ classmates in the language. Sometimes i think i look more singaporean than some LAJ people because there are many hardcore fans of the japanese culture in nus. Which makes me pretty ashamed of myself since i always go around talking in la, lor, leh.One interesting observation os that some LAJ people like to eavesdrop on the conversations i have with my japanese friends when we sit around
