Time for students to wake up and smell the coffee too

I chuckled to myself early today as I flipped to the 2nd page of The New Paper on the way to the office. With a huge front cover image of a poor girl in China reportedly needing to have her legs cut off to free her from being trapped amongst the rubble after the quake, I was anticipating the story as I flipped only to be surprised by a stupid article highlighting an even more stupid plight of a rather bright girl actually. In case you missed it, the report is on Mei (obviously not her real name, duh) a secondary 2 student is very upset on the level of competition she is facing in school in her pursuit of topping her cohort in the examinations. Having failed to do so in her first year in secondary school, this year she's even more determined to be the top student. How does she intend to improve? She complains to The New Paper. Pure genius stuff, I'm telling you.I'm not sure how smart exactly this Mei is (they didn't publish her academic achievements) , but from what I gathered, she can't be that much of geniu
