Theory on why Mas Selamat is not caught

There was this blog post on Mas Selamat bein seen at 7-11. No matter how true or false it is, it got me thinking. Let's gather the facts I have so far (I missed out reading some news, so there are stuff I still don't know yet). The police say he is still alone and no one is helping him. Foreign workers interviewed by the Newpaper said that there are places where people can harbour temporarily without getting caught. However, police says that there is a database of these  possible places. People are out in the streets to look for him. First I will say that no one needs to help him to survive here in Singapore.  Remember the times when people would leave tissue paper packets on the tables at hawker centres? Apparently, there are people who would leave their VALUABLES (handphone, laptops, yada...), going by the signs displayed at home hawker centres and at NUS canteens. So what if he chanced upon someone dumb enough to leave his wallet or other valuables at the hawker centre? Granted that there may
