This is a very wordy post. Viewer discretion is advised. Earlier this morning my mother and I went to DBS bank to close the account that I have with the bank. The overall waiting time is quite acceptable; the queue wasn’t even that as long as I’d expected! So after I cut my DBS GO! Card in half myself and threw it away, I went over to UOB to create my new account! I signed up for the TX account, which I don’t have to maintain a minimum account until the age of 21! (That’s one of the reason why I decided to close my DBS account – I have to maintain $500 at all times!) I also signed up for the UNICARD (debit card), which can only be used at the ATM machine and for using NETS. The good thing about signing on with UOB is the benefits! Though I don’t find it really attractive (I can’t sign up for a credit card, I think I must wait until I’m 21 right?) but I can earn points whenever I use the card to make payment and accumulate the points to get vouchers, etc, or even pay my annual fee for
