South East Sulawesi in Cover
South East Sulawesi Province was officially established in 27 April 1964. Kendari is the capital city of this province. The inhabitant of this province is heterogeneous, among of that are Buton, Bugis, Muna, Walio, Tolaki, Bali and Chinese. Total area of this province covers 38,140 km2. This province has along coast line, hardly have boundary with lands. The province is surrounded by South Sulawesi Province in the north, Sea Flores in the south east, Bone Gulf in the west and Banda Sea in the east side. The economy South East Sulawesi is contributed by forestry sector, especially ebony, cendana, rattan, and honey. Another developing sectors are mining, such as nickel in Pomalaa and Kolaka, asphalt in Buton Islands, and fishery.
