Sequel to Raffles arrive in Singapore
Legend has it that after Raffles named Singapore and left, he came back after sometime. He was walking around this particular area and wondering what he should call this particular town.So he walk and walk.. then he saw this thing on the floor.. so he picked them up.Then when he stood up.. he saw this hokkien dialect chinese lady looking at him then started shouting "AngMo Kio Ah!!!! AngMo Kio Ah!!!" (in english it would mean:"The AngMo(foreigner) has taken my things" but "Kio" means "taken" in the hokkien dialect!)Then he Raffles thought to himself.. and say... AngMoKio it shall be!!!Yupx.. Thats how AngMoKio got its name!!! LoL!P.S. Okie la... ahdee made it up la... >.
