Search for Mas Selamat all for show?
Today I saw a group of police armed with M16s and MP5s (I didn't know that Singapore police has MP5s) patrolling and apparently searching for Mas Selamat. Hmm... I am beginning to lose count on how many days had past since his escape. I think it had been close to 1 month.My best guess is that Mas Selamat is already out of Singapore. But the government is not sure where did he go, or maybe they has insufficient evidence to prove that Mas Selamat is in the suspected location. But during this period, the government cannot idle, they have to do something. At least for show. I seriously don't think that the government is so naive to think that Mas Selamat can survive in the wild for so long. That would mean that the previous long search in the woods for Mas Selamat is perhaps for other unknown reasons. Maybe to round up illegal immigrants once and for all?The government might also be doing this in order not to lose 'face'. By allowing Mas Selamat to escape out of Singapore so easily, it speaks a lot of Singapore'
