On Vox: Malaysia, Truly Asia
This is not another of those suan Malaysia posts.From a point in time, I started to have a natural attraction for Malaysia. I can't remember from exactly when. But I know the possible reasons. One is that my upper secondary history syllabus was on Malaysia. For those who care to remember, the "O" Levels history syllabus last time was divided between history of the world and history of Malaya and one other South East Asian country. We studied the first part in sec4 and the second part was taught in sec3. My school chose Thailand as the SEA country. This could explain why I like Thailand more than other SEA countries like Philippines, Burma or Vietnam. Interest was translated to good grades and those good grades ensured the memory of key incidents or personalities.So I still remember the Pangkor Treaty and James Birch. I can identify Chulalongkorn's portrait in Thailand. I can ratter off the king's predecessors and successors like Mongkut, Vajiravudh and Prajadhipok.Malaysia, Truly Asia. Back to topic.Went to
