Now all i do is blog about food!
Dinner at Double Bay Restaurant the other night for Hazel's birthday :) Tucked in an obscure corner at Raffles City its open bar concept is great for chilling andperfect to end off your day with their desserts. (ok i bluff, it's actually just opposite Raffles Hotel, not obscure)It was not as good as the price reflected. Apparently they are famous for the Fish and Chips which at ~$26/plate i did not really want to try - broke student as you know. Settled for their "Wagyu" Sandwich served with breaded onions and arugula. It tasted like a really substandard beef patty and even though i love onions, those in the burger somehow werent appealing at all. The problem is, at $16.90 you cant expect fantastic Wagyu, but then again i wouldnt even pay $16.90 for that.Another thing i noticed is that their menu is flowery and bombastic, peppered with all sorts of fancy words like "carmelized oysters" and "tomato jam". i admit they sounded really interesting to me until someone said, "isnt that ketchup?" ok, not cool anymor
