Money...and Chinese New Year...

Every year, without fail, I would always tell my mum that I would not join my family in visiting relatives, whom I only see once a year and an absolute waste of time.Opportunity cost of visiting un-familiar relatives and sitting in their houses trying to find flies/mosquitoes to swat: Time spend to mug(yeah, poor me need the grades badly..*wails*)But apparently, the lure of money overrides everything.Yeah..despite rising costs, the 'ang baos' I collected this year are much higher than previous years.. :DBut then again, if I were to break down the amounts, money value stays constant, but due to rising inflation, real value of money goes down. But i shall assume that my relatives have no grasp of such concept and hence they gave the same amount every year. :XIt is still a wonder that Chinese still celebrates Chinese New Year, since I (tend to) believe that Chinese are pragmatic people who loves money(like me!!!)Traditional meaning of giving ang baos is sort of to wish goodness(whatever, I ain't that sure) to
