Moving office to Chinatown earlier part of this year meant having a new place to explore during lunch time. When my customer knew I was moving there, she mentioned have to try out a desserts stall at the corner of Temple Street. So brought colleagues down after lunch to Mei Heong Yuen Dessert (味香园甜品). The dessert shop spans two shophouses and serves a menu of Traditional Chinese Gruel Desserts (walnuts, black sesame, peanuts, almonds) as well as Mango Pomelo cold desserts. They also serve various kuehs (cake-like desserts) which we didn’t try.My German colleague who was trying this for the first time was pretty adventurous and decided to go for the almond dessert which he found out later was something he quite liked. Myself and another colleague opted for the refreshingly cool Mango Pomelo ice since it was a hot weekday afternoon. Prices are pretty reasonable here with most items ranging from $2 to $3.
