To be fair, it's about time I blog about crimes committed by maids. (Although such cases may be rarer compared to the employers abusing their maids). Anyway here's one. The culprit was lucky to be punished to jail-term only for 8 months (out of the maximum 7 years). It was such a violent crime! Read on the following details: An Indonesian maid assaulted her employer's mother with a metal decorative statue before fleeing with $2,200 worth of stolen property.On Thursday, Miswanti, 23, was jailed for eight months for causing hurt to Madam Lim Poh Lam, 57, with a weapon and theft.She had been working for Madam Lim's daughter, Ms Jennie Soh Wee Lin, 31, at Bedok North Street 2, for barely a month when she committed the offences.Assistant Public Prosecutor GK Jayarajan said on Oct 23 last year, Miswanti was cleaning the master bedroom when she stole Ms Soh's watch.She then opened the wardrobe and stole an assortment of costume jewellery.She then called out to Madam Lim who was watching TV in the living room.Madam
