Bibi Russell in Bogota
Former top model from Bangladesh and now a designer, Bibi Russell, was part of a unique fashion show in Bogota, Columbia for the inauguration of the Christmas Festival - 'Navidad Hecha a Mano' - Handmade Christmas. The show in Bogotá has been a triumph of handcrafts for Christmas. Russell was in the Columbian capital since May 2011 preparing for the event. The mission of Russell's Bibi Productions, based in Bangladesh, is to save the crafts people and help revive their dreams. Hand-woven muslin, silks and extremely fine cottons are a part of her collection made by world famous artists. The show in BogotŠ± too promoted handmade and environmentally friendly clothes, and it was all in the line of her “Fashion for Development” project, which originally started in India for the preservation of traditional crafts and as a powerful tool against poverty.
