Banning IM and Other Avenues of Social Networking at Work...
Hmmm, my company banned all used of IM, ping.sg, Facebook etc etc.....i've been actively tracked and shut down completely.WHY THE HELL ARE THEY DOING IT????Sometimes i wish i can slap all the IT managers in the world. Has there been prove that having social networking at work interfered with productivity and effectiveness? I went through the company induction and listened to the reasoning for banning all these sites...oh, blogging , IM and facebook can bring viruses into the workplace....OH PPL SPEND HOURS ON FACEBOOK!.....IM takes up too much time.....sigh...Do managers NOT understand that we are NOT robots??? Who can work for 8 hours straight? I mean which normal sane person who loves life and HAS FRIENDS can do that????? I think some IT managers should go read more into the USE of IM and Social Networking at workplace..there are many positive examples online!
