Day #3 - 4th July 2010 Location: Jodhpur to Jaisalmer Distance Covered: 301 KM Train Ticket Price: 157 Rs Total Distance Covered: ~1421 KM This train ride was to be a first sleeper class experience for Boon, Frau and Jam. It IS a big deal taking the sleeper class into Rajasthan. Firstly, it was to be a dusty and uncomfortable experience. Secondly, sleeper class is the lowest you can possibly go. It is also the main form of transportation for India's mainly poor citizens. A technician getting the ol' fan fixed. Jam: Mommy, sleeper class jialat na. All I wanna do is curl up into a cocoon. Ho: No fan inside sleeper cabin. Mati la. A typical sleeper carriage. I slept like a log and didn't realise the amount of dust swirling in the cabins. The others were kept awake I think and covered their faces during the journey. The desert sand somehow made its way into the cabins, onto our faces, bags, underwear and even my throat. Dammit.
