Surely, this is not the “true Church of God” as they proclaim themselves to be! If you’re Roman Catholic, I encourage you to read this and see for yourself how far removed from the true teachings of God these traditions of men are! Refutations to these man-made traditions follow immediately after each event, and are ...

Note that the genealogy of Christ (<a href="http://www.usccb.org/nab/bible/matthew/matthew1.htm">Matthew 1</a>) includes many sinners:
1. Abraham, who lied about his relationship with wife Sarah and gave her to adultery to save his life.
2. Jacob, who cheated his brother Esau of his heritage and deceived his father Isaac into giving him the first son's blessings.
3. Tamar, who “pretended” to be a prostitute and bore a child by her father-in-law Judah through sin and incest.
4. Rahab, a prostitute, who became mother of Boaz.
5. David, the king who has God's favor, who committed adultery with the wife of one of his loyal subjects and shortly after, murdered this poor man in spite of his loyalty to David.
6. Bathsheba, an adulteress who became mother of one of the greatest and wisest king in history.
7. A lineage of faithful kings of character, all of whom struggled with sin, unfaithfulness to God and country, and were not perfect, as well as those who were as bad as can be—even unspeakably evil.

Bottomline: We are all sinners. And God can do wonders through us, even though we are sinners. "...all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28)

Jesus said: "Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill.

"Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place.

"Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do so will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever obeys and teaches these commandments will be called greatest in the kingdom of heaven."

Matthew 5:17-19
